Civitavecchia (Rome): cruise port guide

The cruise gateway to Rome: free port shuttles and direct connections to the Vatican area and Termini.

Getting to Rome

A free shuttle connects all cruise docks with the Largo della Pace service centre, just outside the port. From there, a direct SIT bus runs to Rome, stopping only at San Pietro (near the Vatican) and Termini; a direct shuttle also links the cruise area with Civitavecchia train station.

Rome in one day

  • Vatican Museums and St Peter's (pre-book)
  • Or: Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon

The cruise shuttle runs according to ship arrivals. Leave a generous safety margin before all-aboard time.
