Nassau: cruise port guide

Six berths right on downtown Nassau's waterfront, able to take three Oasis-class ships at once.

The port

After a 300 million dollar redevelopment, Nassau Cruise Port has six berths and can handle Icon-class ships. The waterfront has more than sixty shops, a Junkanoo museum and an amphitheatre.

What to do

According to the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism:

  • The Queen's Staircase, known as the 66 steps, carved out of limestone in 1793–1794, in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex
  • Junkanoo Beach, a short walk from downtown, popular with cruise passengers
  • Government House, the pink-and-white official residence of the Governor General on Mount Fitzwilliam
  • Arawak Cay (the Fish Fry), for authentic Bahamian seafood and conch
  • The Nassau Straw Market, for straw handbags and local crafts
  • Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre
